O FBI pediu às vítimas de crimes cibernéticos que tenham cautela ao visitar seu site Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), alegando que os agentes de ameaças criaram várias versões falsificadas.

Em um anúncio de serviço público (PSA) na sexta-feira, o FBI alertou sobre os perigos de visitar um site fraudulento ou de phishing projetado para imitar o portal IC3 para relatórios de crimes cibernéticos.

“Um site falsificado é projetado para se passar por um site legítimo e pode ser usado para conduta ilegal, como roubo de informações pessoais e para facilitar golpes monetários”, disse.

“Os agentes de ameaças criam sites falsificados, muitas vezes alterando ligeiramente as características dos domínios legítimos do site, com o objetivo de coletar informações de identificação pessoal (PII) inseridas por um usuário no site, incluindo nome, endereço residencial, número de telefone, endereço de e-mail e informações bancárias.”

Eles também podem se passar por funcionários do IC3 do FBI na tentativa de revitimizar indivíduos, alegando ser capazes de recuperar fundos perdidos por uma taxa, por exemplo.

  • Evite clicar em qualquer link cujo URL seja diferente do site IC3 legítimo
  • Nunca clique em links que possam incluir artefatos ou gráficos suspeitos, como gráficos de baixa qualidade usados para imitar sites legítimos
  • Relate quaisquer incidentes de golpes de falsificação de identidade do FBI para www.ic3.gov
  • Nunca pague ninguém se passando por oficial do FBI ou membro da equipe do IC3
  • Não visite nenhuma página social com a marca IC3, pois o centro não tem presença na mídia social
