O WhatsApp anunciou um novo recurso que permite Tradução de mensagens no aplicativo . A empresa enfatiza que as barreiras linguísticas muitas vezes limitam a comunicação livre, considerando que seu serviço é usado diariamente por mais de 3 bilhões de usuários em aproximadamente 180 países.

Agora, se você receber uma mensagem em um idioma desconhecido, toque e segure e selecione “Traduzir”. Você pode então Selecione o idioma para traduzir de ou para e baixar um dicionário para salvar para uso posterior.

Em termos de segurança, a empresa ressalta que a transferência mantém a confidencialidade da correspondência: todas as operações são realizadas apenas no dispositivo do usuário e o WhatsApp não tem acesso aos textos.

O recurso de tradução está disponível em bate-papos privados e em grupo , bem como atualizações do canal. A partir de 23 de setembro, o recurso estará gradualmente disponível para usuários de Android e iPhone.
