Blog de Lulas de Sexta-feira: Lula Gigante Comendo uma Lula Diamondback – Schneier sobre Segurança

Oi pessoal, sou biólogo de lulas! Queria acrescentar algumas coisas que podem achar interessantes.

Com tantas pessoas carregando câmeras, estamos recebendo mais vídeos de lulas gigantes na superfície do que nas décadas anteriores. Também começamos a notar um padrão: por volta dessa época do ano (com pico em janeiro) vemos um monte de lulas gigantes pelo Japão. Não sabemos por que isso está acontecendo. Talvez eles se reúnam por lá para acasalar ou algo assim? Vai saber! Mas como tantas pessoas têm câmeras, esses encontros isolados com monstros agora são gravados em vídeo, como este (que, aliás, é muito ruim. Essa lula parece tão saudável, é incrível).

Quando vemos lulas grandes (gigantes ou colossais) saudáveis como essa, geralmente é porque um pescador pegou outra coisa (ou outra lula ou, às vezes, um peixe-dente antártico). A lula é atraída pelo que foi capturado e sobe no anzol e acompanha a viagem quando a espécie alvo é puxada. Há alguns avistamentos colossais de lulas semelhantes a esse vindos do oceano antártico (mas menos pessoas estão lá embaixo, então menos câmeras, menos vídeos). No vídeo original do Instagram, um monte de gente diz “Coloca de volta! Soltem ele!” etc., mas ele só está aproveitando o jantar (obviamente, já que a lula nada no final).
